A question on the recent share issue - Rather than another interest bearing loan, my thinking was that given Tripp had bought in, they dilute his holding by a further share issue and therefore increase their return when the club is sold?
No, it was a rights issue, so new shares issued in the same ratio as existing shares, so shareholdings not diluted.
One minority share owner did not take up their rights, so Sullivan bought their shares, marginally increasing his shareholding.

Ashley put in £200m when he bought Newcastle and cleared an otherwise impending demise, he has charged zero interest

What the above also tells us is that there is interest on £45m still owed to them for 5+ years.which must be around another £15m...
With interest rates of 4.25%, it's closer to £9.5 million, for 5 more years.
Only it's 3 and a bit years, with the loans being due to be repaid on 1 January 2024

"West Ham have paid the sixth-highest bank interest payments in the past five years within the Premier League according to research published by football finance expert SwissRamble.
West Ham have paid out an additional £19.7m interest to owners David Sullivan and David Gold in respect of shareholder loans made between 2011 and 2014 with £45m loans outstanding."
That's from C&H and it says that after GSB said they wouldn't draw interest payments they did in fact take almost £20m for themselves.
What the above also tells us is that there is interest on £45m still owed to them for 5+ years.which must be around another £15m...
All from owners that kept telling us they would not take their interest payments!

They are LIARS! Made a big fanfare in the first couple of years about how they were reducing the debt. 10 years on we're still in debt and penniless, this after selling our home and reducing overheads by renting a stadium for peanuts.
Why would they clear the debt when they are skimming off millions in interest.
Try getting onto to 5Live or Talkshite to point this out and you'll have no chance, whilst they get the thickest callers possible to rant on about the lack of "PASSION" in the players and how GSB "saved us"

Every year, we seem to have a "payday" loan, in anticipation of receipt of Sky monies. So that hasn't been cleared.
And £39 million was to be repaid in July this year, for the latest payday loan. Maybe why player sale monies, haven't been spent?

They are not fans. We know that. The thing that "grinds my gears" is the promise of clearing debts Brady made in the first few years of ownership ( they will spin it as clearing 3rd party debt no doubt?). Lies. They are liars which apparently Sullivan resents more than any other name he is called. So that is how we will refer to him from now on without exception :-)

Surf - I think we are in agreement.
Bottom line for me is that if they were 'real fans' they would just write of the debt and discussions about interest rates would be academic.
But they aren't and they don't.
